Weekends are for braais

The days are getting hot. We are spending our weekends outside by the pool. It’s time to get our braai on!

As the braai is a man’s domain, I banish myself from the area and take refuge on a lilo in the pool to catch a few rays of sun and read a little more of my current book. I may request a beverage to be brought to me by the Braai Master. Or to be hand fed some chips like a trained seal. Whatever I do though, I never discuss the braai or how the meat is doing. I just wait for my 10 minute cue to start the salad, mielies or garlic bread.

With the help of the BraaiNation app, I don’t have to worry about the meat or the braai ever again! It was launched on Heritage Day (24 September) and will change your smartphone into the BraaiPhone. After seeing a few screenshots of the app, I can see it becoming an essential addition to any South African braai! I may have to download it onto my husband’s phone surreptitiously so he can look through the app’s cool features like best braai tips or recipes.

The BraaiNation app is available for free on BraaiOS and Mandroid.
