To go or not to go

…that is the question!

This year marks 10 years out of school. I still can’t quite believe that it’s been 10 years already! I mean…there was so much that I was going to accomplish by the time I reunited with my school friends. I was going to be somebody. I was going to be doing great things. And yet 10 years have gone by and I feel that I don’t have much to show for it…

So here’s the thing… I have been invited to a reunion of the girls I went to school with from Grade 4 to mid-Grade 10. I didn’t finish school with them. I haven’t kept in touch with them other than seeing what they get up to on Facebook. And I’m not sure whether to go or not. Yes it’d be great to catch up with everyone and see where everyone is at. But I don’t know any of these girls any more so what would we speak about other than where we are now. But am I being short-sighted and potentially stopping something that could reignite a friendship or start a new one?

I’m hoping some of your insight will help me to make a decision because right now I’m stuck.

  1. I’d say go. You might get a new friend out of it, or it could be good networking with possible work connections. You never know unless you try. 🙂

  2. Ok, stop right there! You’ll be surprised when you have to write it down just how much you have done in the last 10 years. I say GO! Even if it’s just to reminisce and laugh about good times. Yes, so you’ve grown up and moved on but who knows what comes from it. Maybe have a back up excuse like you need to leave early so that if it’s a snore fest you can sneak away. 🙂
