Last night we headed to Montecasino to get a taste of the MTN Festival that began on Wednesday 18 September. The theme of the festival is GO BIG. And based on what they have lined up, you’ll definitely…

Applaud BIG. Sing BIG. Laugh BIG. Eat BIG.
Rock BIG. Party BIG. Shout BIG. Play BIG.

We started our night at 3SIXTY° Liquid Lounge. It is situated in the heart of the casino and promises to tantalise your tastebuds with new and exciting cocktails (and delivers on that promise). That I know of, they are the first restaurant that has integrated technology in the way they use their menu. Our table held multiple iPads which we used to navigate their menu. Very fancy and cool! I chose a very interesting cocktail (the Espresso) that included Nachtmusik, Vodka, Espresso and something else. Not only did it taste amazing, it was served in a gorgeous glass! Need to find some of these for my home.

Once everyone had had something to drink and something to snack on, the competition started. We were asked ten questions about the festival and needed to tweet the answers using #MTNFestival. Some were easy and we only had to look through a pamphlet to get the answer. Some were a little more difficult and we had to search online for the answer. It was really all about fastest fingers as we had 30 seconds to type and tweet! Of course my competitiveness took over! I tried my best but obviously I need to exercise my fingers a little more… 😉

We then headed over to Parker’s Comedy to end our evening on a high of giggles. I had never been to Parker’s before so I was pretty excited to see what it was all about. They have a great line up for September so head over here to see who’ll be performing and book some tickets!

The MTN Festival runs until Sunday 13 October. It is Jozi’s biggest festival is jam-packed with loads of entertainment for the whole family! Movies, live music, theatre, comedy, street entertainment, children’s activities, and more!
